Abstract:ThirtyfivetyphoonslandingTaiwanIslandareanalyzedtodeterminethechangesofcharacteristicsinintensityandtrackduringthetimefrom48hoursbeforethelandfallto18hoursafterthelandfallusingthebesttyphoontrackdatafromShanghaiTyphoonInstituteandcomprehensiveforecastoftrackandintensityfromNationalMeteorologicalCenterfrom2000to2014.Theresultsshowthattherewere35typhoonslandingTaiwanIslandand26of29typhoonswithcompletedatathatlandedTaiwanIslandfromeasttowestappearedinJuly,AugustandSeptember,i.e.897%.Theintensitygraduallyincreasedduring4818hoursbeforelanding,thenmaintainedatalevel,anddecreasedfrom6hoursbeforelanding.Duringthetimefrom6hoursbeforelandingto6hoursafterleavingTaiwanIsland,theintensitydecreasedby278%from410m·s-1to296m·s-1.Themovingdirectionoftheforecastistothenorthoftheactualsituationduring48-36hoursbeforetyphoonspassedoverTaiwanIslandandtothesouthduring30-0hoursbeforethepass.Thelinearregressionrelationoftheintensitychange24hoursbeforelandingand6hoursafterlandingwasverifiedinthetyphooncasesthatlandedTaiwanIslandin2015,whichcouldbereferredtointheforecast.
