Abstract:The scatterometer onboard Chinese-French Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT)adopts theKu-band fan-beam rotating scanning system, which has the characteristics of rich observation of geometryinformation and large number of observation samples. The CFOSAT Scatterometer (CSCAT)is a new typeof remote sensing equipment for sea surface wind field. The original spatial resolution of CSCAT is10 km×12.5 km,which is the highest spatial resolution of microwave scatterometer at present, and itprovides the possibility of developing high-quality coastal high-resolution sea surface wind products.Firstly, the principle of CSCAT remote sensing of coastal wind field is reviewed, and the effectiveness ofthis new scientific product is verified by ancillary data. Then, the typhoon disaster monitoring research iscarried out by using CSCAT coastal wind field. Compared with the standard product with a resolution of 25 km,CSCAT coastal wind field can describe typhoon structure in more detail and provide moreaccurate information support and decision-making service for meteorological and oceanic disasterprevention and mitigation.
