Abstract:Based on the digital results of EL wind self recording paper (Fm file) and monthly ground meteorological report files (J file) in Liaoning Province, after data standardization processing, quality control, and splicing integration, minutely wind direction and speed datasets was established for 30 national meteorological stations in Liaoning Province from 1968 to 2023. The datasets covers cities in Liaoning Province except for Dalian, Liaoyang, and Panjin. The overall actual rate and accuracy rate of wind direction are 92.64% and 99.9998%, while the overall actual rate and accuracy rate of wind speed are 95.77% and 99.9999%. The actual rate of wind direction and speed at the vast majority of stations is over 90%, and the accuracy rate of wind direction and speed at all stations exceeds 99.999%. Based on the "Hourly Wind Speed Dataset in China (V1.0)", the comparison and evaluation of wind direction and speed was found that 92.16% of the difference in on-time wind speed was distributed within ±0.6m/s, 78.63% of the difference was distributed within ±0.3m/s, and 51.79% of the difference was 0; 96.86% of the wind direction differences are distributed within one direction, while 82.24% have completely identical wind directions. The majority of stations have low wind speeds, and the wind direction consistency rate of all stations is higher than 94%. The difference in wind direction and speed has significant temporal and spatial variations. The difference in wind speed and direction is relatively small during the self recording observation period and relatively large during the automatic observation period. The difference in wind speed is greater in spring, the difference in wind direction is greater in summer, and the difference in wind speed and direction is the smallest in winter. The difference in wind speed and direction gradually increases during the sunrise period, the wind direction difference reached its maximum at 12:00, and the wind speed difference reached its maximum at 14:00.
