    本文使用2018年3月至2021年2月ERA5再分析资料和站点资料逐小时风向、风速等数据,采用常规方法筛选天津环渤海地区海陆风事件,比较分析不同资料集呈现出的海陆风起讫时间、持续时间、强度等指标表征的海陆风特征的年平均和季节差异,以评估ERA5再分析资料的适用性。结果表明:(1)两套资料四季分布对应较好,均能显示夏季海陆风日最多这一基本特征;海风持续时间较陆风持续时间更长,年平均强度高于陆风,最强均出现在春季。(2)年平均差异主要表现在:站点资料显示的海风开始和结束时间呈弱双峰结构,陆风开始和结束时间均早于ERA5再分析资料,平均海风和陆风持续时间短于ERA5再分析资料。(3)季节差异主要表现在:ERA5再分析资料显示陆风强度极小值出现在夏季,海风最长持续时间主要出现在秋季;站点资料显示陆风强度极小值在秋季,海风最长持续时间出现在春夏两季。评估结果显示,较长时间序列ERA5再分析资料在分析天津环渤海地区海陆风特征研究方面的适用性。

    Abstract:

    In this paper, the hourly ERA5 reanalysis dataset and observation datasets from March 2018 to February 2021 are adopted to investigate the characteristics of the sea-land breeze over Tianjin area. Firstly, conventional methods are used to identify sea-land breeze events. Secondly, the annual averages and seasonal differences of sea-land breeze characteristics are analyzed and compared based on these two different datasets with the purpose to make an assessment of the applicability of the ERA5 reanalysis dataset. Similarities and differences are concluded as follows. (1) Both datasets are capable of revealing the fact that sea-land breeze events mostly occur in summer with similar distributions in all four seasons. The sea breeze lasts longer than the land breeze with stronger intensity. Both breezes reach their maximum intensities in spring. (2) Compared to results revealed by the ERA5 reanalysis dataset, the starting and ending of the sea breeze revealed by the observation data have a weaker bimodal structure which is not shown in the ERA5 data. The revealed starting and end time of the land breeze are ahead of their correspondences revealed by the ERA5 data. The duration hours of both the sea breeze and the land breeze are longer revealed by the observation data. (3) There are seasonal differences revealed by these two different datasets. The minimum intensity of the land breeze revealed by the ERA5 data occurs in summer, while the longest duration hour of the sea breeze occurs in autumn. The minimum intensity of the land breeze revealed by the observation data occurs in autumn, while the longest duration hour of the sea breeze is in spring and summer. It is found from the assessments that the ERA5 reanalysis data with the duration of three years are suitable for the future analysis of the sea-land breeze over Tianjin Circum-Bohai area.
